I saw the movie Gravity this week. I’m going to try to write about it without giving away anything that you wouldn’t see in the previews but, just in case…SPOILER ALERT!
The movie was visually stunning and I recommend it. That said, it caused me major anxiety. My shoulders were actually knotted up by the time I left the theater. Mainly because I was terrified of the thought of being totally alone (…slowly running out of oxygen in deep space).
The reason I’m writing about this on a weight loss blog is because I wanted to make a few comparisons between Gravity and your weight loss journey. It might be a stretch, but let’s see how it goes…
Much like in Sandra Bullock’s precarious lost-in-space situation, you are going to run into some obstacles along the way—perhaps not as harrowing as hers—but really no less important. This is your life you’re fighting for, after all.
But you are also going to have significant successes along the way. You are going to be stronger than you ever thought you could be. You will overcome self-doubt and realize that you have what it takes within you.
Sometimes you might feel adrift on your journey, like you’re not getting anywhere, and reaching your goal may feel impossible.
But don’t panic! You will never be alone.
Because we are the George Clooney to your Sandra Bullock. That’s right, I said it. We are charming, handsome, save-the-day George Clooney over here.
We’ll talk you through your journey step-by-step. We’ll reel you back in when you start to drift. And when you think you can’t go on and you don’t have any more fight in you, we’ll remind you why you started this journey in the first place and help you find a way to get where you’re going.
You can do it and we can help!
