Since we are now 2 months out from Mother’s Day (March 30) we thought it would be fun to suggest teaming up with your mom—or your daughter, or any friend—to challenge each other to reach a weight loss goal by Mother’s Day.
Obviously we believe in the “team” approach at Genetix Program since teaming up with clients one-on-one is what we do!
Losing weight with someone else has proven time and again to be more effective than going it alone because you not only have extra support and encouragement but also an added accountability to someone else. The “I don’t want to let them down” factor works in your favor when it comes to losing weight.
Also, when it’s a family member you’ve teamed up with, you get the added benefit of being able to give each other a swift kick in the pants, when it’s needed, without worrying about hurting each other’s feelings.
If you are lucky enough to live close to each other you can share healthy recipes and keep each other on track during those tempting meals out at restaurants or at free-for-all family functions. And if you are not in the same location, sharing your weight loss journey with each other online or over the phone can help you feel closer. It works no matter which way you do it when you do it together!
It’s never too late to be a good role model for your daughter or to provide a healthy example for your mother. Try losing weight together to be your healthiest selves for Mother’s Day and beyond.
